The Chief Financial Officer Role: Scope and Responsibilities
As the CFO, you will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for overseeing and enhancing the financial operations of our organization. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional with a track record of success in the healthcare sector, particularly within fast-paced, multifaceted environments.
Your role will involve:
Strategic Leadership: Partnering with the CEO and Executive Leadership team to shape and implement both short-term and long-term financial strategies.
Financial Oversight: Organizing, preparing, and implementing financial policies, and ensuring the organization's financial stability while expanding its reach.
Team Leadership: Leading a dedicated team of 32 staff across various functional areas, including Accounting & Reporting, Claims Processing & Analytics, Contracting & Legal/Compliance, Facilities, and Plan Eligibility.
Communication: Serving as the principal source of financial information for the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors, and contributing to strategic initiatives and organizational planning.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting required; Master's degree preferred.
Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred but not required.
Experience: At least 10 years of executive leadership experience in healthcare finance, ideally within the non-profit sector.
Knowledge: Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements. Experience with healthcare on both the provider and payer side is preferred. PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) experience is a significant advantage.
Skills: Proficiency in financial software and systems, strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and effective team management.
Personal Attributes: An energetic, creative, and forward-thinking financial executive with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, analytical and strategic thinking abilities, and a robust understanding of financial principles.
