Job Description

Facility Maintenance Technician’s position refers to a pivotal role that involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the equipment, systems, and facilities within Solon facility. Responsibilities include HVAC maintenance, electrical work, plumbing, general repairs, and ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently and safely.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Identify and repair leaks, electrical issues, and other problems within the HVAC systems.
• Perform electrical repairs and maintenance tasks, including lighting, wiring, and circuit issues.
• Inspect and maintain facility plumbing and handle basic plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks, replacing fittings, and clearing minor clogs.
• Basic Facility maintenance responsibilities, including carpentry, drywall repair, painting, moving furniture or equipment, landscaping, snow removal, and outdoor lighting.
• Comply with all safety procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC knowledge required
• Facility maintenance experience preferred
• Vocational School training and electromechanical engineering background preferred

Work Environment:

• Work with powered and hand tools including drills, wrenches, hammers, wire strippers and solder stations
• Must be able to stand for much of the day
• Must be able to lift over 50 lbs.
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders
• Must be able to adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to work with little or no supervision
