This position reports to

Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization's assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget. The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite in Albuquerque, NM You will be mainly accountable for: • Develop and optimize new manufacturing processes, equipment, and fixtures. • Perform process capability studies ensuring manufacturing processes are in control. • Process engineering revolves around multi-layered rubber injection molding of medium to high voltage electrical distribution products for underground power distribution. • Work with molding specialists to troubleshoot existing molds, processes, and equipment. • Responsible for accuracy of product routing and times • Continuously improve the production floor through Lean Manufacturing methods, supporting and developing processes, and redefining processes and products.. • Manage long term capital improvement projects.

Qualifications for the role

  • BS degree or equivalent in a technical field (IE, EE, ME, Materials Science, etc.) and 5+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with elastomer injection molding is desired.
  • Experience with medium to high voltage electrical distribution products is desired.
  • Previous experience in processing engineering
  • Ability to coordinate several projects
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
