Job Description: As the Vice President of Homeland Security Innovations at GDIT, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its mission to protect the nation's security through innovative technology solutions. This strategic position involves collaborating with DHS and government leadership, providing technical guidance, and aligning technological innovations with the agency's goals. You will be responsible for identifying trends in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, cloud solutions, and other emerging technologies that enhance DHS operations, from border security to emergency response.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: - Partner with DHS stakeholders to understand mission requirements and develop technology roadmaps that support those objectives.
- Provide expert advice and strategy on integrating cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data analytics.
- Identify technological trends and assess their potential impact on Homeland Security operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams at GDIT to tailor solutions for DHS, ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure and compliance with federal standards.
- Lead technical discussions and briefings with DHS leadership, advising on the implementation of technology solutions that enhance security, efficiency, and mission effectiveness.
- Analyze, design, and propose innovative strategies for improving border security, disaster recovery, counterterrorism, and cybersecurity capabilities.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for emerging technologies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on IT modernization efforts within DHS, ensuring that technology implementations align with mission-critical priorities.
- Coordinate with other federal agencies and departments to ensure inter-agency cooperation and shared technological advancements.
- Support the acquisition and deployment of new technologies through RFP and contract management processes.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in technology strategy, IT consulting, or solutions architecture, with significant experience in the public sector, ideally in Homeland Security or Defense.
- Proven track record in working with federal agencies, particularly DHS, in developing and deploying IT strategies.
- Deep knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI, ML, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and big data analytics.
- Strong understanding of the DHS mission and its technological challenges.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to brief senior government officials and stakeholders.
- Experience in government procurement processes, including proposal development and contract execution.
- Active DHS or DOD clearance, or able to obtain/maintain a clearance.
- Location: Hybrid, typically 3 days on-site in Herndon, VA

The likely salary range for this position is $210,800 - $285,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
